New Beef - Kindle Paperwhite. RUSTED
So the "waterproof" Kindle Paperwhite, isn't so waterproof. Amazon has to know this. The area where you plug it in to charge is full of rust and it's becoming ever more difficult to charge it. We've taken a dry toothbrush to it. Rubbed a little WD40, but unless you get it just right, it won't charge.
VERY deceptive descriptions: "Now waterproof, so you’re free to read and relax at the beach, by the pool, or in the bath." "With the waterproof Kindle Paperwhite, you’re free to read and relax in more places, including the beach, pool, or bath. Paperwhite is IPX8 rated to protect against accidental immersion in up to two meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes". I take care of my stuff, including this; they are not cheap.
Of course it is out of warranty and "there's nothing more they can do".
Try not selling something as waterproof that isn't truly waterproof.
